I was born and raised in a small rural town in Wisconsin where I spent the first 23 or so years of my life and my professional career as a graphic designer until my inner Kerouac could no longer be contained by state lines. I decided to start applying for jobs all over the country with the resolution that I would take the first job offer that I got wherever that may be. I applied to design positions in about 10 cities all over the country, mostly on the coasts as I have always loved the ocean. I got really really lucky and the first call came from San Diego, I quit my job packed my bags and flew out living in a hotel for the first 2 weeks of work. The years that followed shaped me in extremely positive ways and I contribute much of my success in life to that new chapter on the beach. After 7 years in California I left my cubicle and decade long career as a graphic designer to put photography at the forefront, and the quality of my work greatly improved because of it. I have since traveled and photographed projects in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Turkey, Kenya, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia along with commercial projects in Los Angeles and dozens of weddings in Colorado and California.
Today my partner Kellie and I live in Durango Colorado where I shoot engagements, weddings and family photography while Kellie is a nurse at the local Hospital. We both love the outdoors and when we aren’t out of the country can usually be found hiking, fishing, biking, camping or grabbing a pint on main street in Durango. If you would like to know more about my work or Kellie and my travels and our work with nonprofits feel free to reach out!
